Started in 2002, the Dauphin Island Sea Lab (DISL) Foundation supports the Sea Lab in its mission to provide wise stewardship of the marine environment through education and research.
The Foundation does this by providing funds to sustain the activities of the Sea Lab; promoting awareness of the Sea Lab and its environmental issues; and funding an endowment for the Sea Lab. Just as the Sea Lab believes the Gulf of Mexico is one of our nation’s most precious resources, so does the Foundation hold the Sea Lab as one of Alabama’s great scientific treasures.
